This is a petition for anyone who has an interest in seeing Heretic become a published reality. If you want to see this book in print, if you’d buy a copy of it right now if you could, please make your mark here in the form of a comment. Leave your email address, your name, and a message for the publishers and agents I’m going to continue to harass until someone gives me the one shot I need. Tell them they need to pay attention to this novel when it crosses their desks.

It takes only a few seconds to make your mark, and your support will make a difference. You can add your strength to others, and together we can influence the Fates. I’m a strong man and a proud man. I never ask for help unless I must have it, and that’s where I am now. Please help me achieve my dream.

If you want to do more to help me, I have one more favor to ask of you. Please help me spread the word about my novel. If you have friends and family who would be interested in this story, send them the link to the website and to this petition. If you have an online journal, MySpace account, or something similar, please drop a note or a link there for all to see.

The Internet is an amazing source of power. I need your help to harness it and make it work for me. Even in these times of instantaneous communication, word of mouth remains the best way to advertise, even if it is actually “word of blog” or an instant message or a text message.

Thank you for your help and support. Your time and effort will help me alter reality.

Sincerely,

Shannon “Tommy” Thomas

Not only would I buy this book outright, I can think of a few friends that would love to read it. I hope this gets published soon – it’ll take care of a good portion of my Christmas list!

This book of which I’ve seen only glimpses, should raise the hairs on the back of any agent that reads it. It is a mammoth undertaking on Tommy’s part, and despite the numerous obligations and obstacles that have threatened to derail him, it is nothing short of amazing. I for one would hunt high and low for this book if I knew it was printed. To all agents I say this – DO NOT LET THIS OPPORTUNITY PASS YOU BY!

Dear Publisher / Agent:

Having read several of Shannon Thomas’s works, I feel confident in saying that if you, as a publisher or literary agent, turn aside this artist, years later you will be kicking yourself. Many published sci-fi / fantasy writers who have been wish they had the wordplay which comes so easy to Mr. Thomas.

Do yourself a favor and take advantage of this opportunity now.

Sincerely,

Matt Simmons

This is different from anything else I’ve ever read. It held me nearly spellbound as I read through the first chapter. I have friends that browsed this site and they are as excited as I am about this book. Please pay attention to this book and do all you can to get it in print!

This is one of the best novels I have ever read. I have a review of the novel on the other page here on the site that does not even do this book justice. After having spoken with Tommy about the plot twists and turns he has planned for the sequels, I eagerly await the day when I get to read the next installment. Since he must pay the bills and cannot devote adequate time to completing this story, I can only sit here and wait for the day when you, dear agent/publisher, finally allows him to focus all of his efforts and talents on the job that he was born and lives to do. Please, don’t keep us waiting too long.

I’ve known Tommy and have been reading his work for several years. He rates among some of the finest writers I have read. I have read parts of this book and feel that it would do extremely well on the market.

Of all the useless works that publishers bring to the public ~ there is an occasional challenging and rewarding read brought into print.

THIS book “Heretic” would be one of those GOOD reads.

My purchasing power would go to this BOOK!! And my recommendation to buy this would go to My Circle of friends.

I am so excited about this book! I hope to buy this book as soon as it is in print. I need books that grab me right from the start…It is so hard for me to find a book that catches my attention in the first few pages. THIS book has! It makes me want more. A real page turner. This is a book with real meat on its bones….feed the reader!

I can’t wait till someone publishes this so I can get a full copy, fantasy has devolved into two camps, you either get Tolkien or you get kids books, so this is different and definitely refreshing. It is great to see him pushing the fantasy envelope and telling stories that most of us dream of, but no one puts on paper.

I have only had snapshots of the book revealed to me, but would buy it in a heartbeat to see where the story goes. I have read a large volume of Tommy’s other work and have every faith in his ability to write. Someone is going to publishish him and draw off his success as a superior new talent. It could you or maybe the next guy, but he will be published because the piece is worthy of it. I have discussed the book with Tommy as well as the follow-up piece he is currently working on. His work will sell. All of it. I hope you give him a shot. If not you then your competitor will.

I’m just your single travelling country boy. I work in an industry that put us in hotels for long periods of time. This novel would be one great adventure to enjoy during my downtime. Did I mention , on trips we read on average about four books a week. Just my humble opinion.

Some men wait for things to happen to them while others go out and make things happen for them. Shannon has done the latter.

I met him through his writing and have been an avid fan ever since. As a writer and editor in my own right, I know when I am in the presence of a talent that doesn’t come along every day. His work, not only Heretic and Warlock’s Wake, but much of the rest of it, will be published some day. It’s no longer a question of “if,” but rather one of “when.”

Publishers come and publishers go; many due to their own fickle nature. I have a quiet chuckle when I see publishers pass on manuscripts out of negligence and wonder what they will have to say when it hits print and turns big bucks.

I personally hope these two books are picked up by a smaller publisher looking to carve out a name for themself. They will be well served with what they purchase here; both in print and the loyalty of the man who spins the tales. Shannon does not forget who his friends are nor abandone them for personal gain.

Caveat emptor cuts both ways – beware of buying a poor product, but also beware of missing a true bargain. Potential publishers may wish to give this one a little deeper thought.

I’ve been captivated, enthralled and brought to tears by Shannon’s writing for 25 years or more. They can’t be called “page turners” because you don’t see the pages. Instead you see valiant men fighting through the pain or dying in vain. Swords swish through the air, barely missing your scalp. The horses’ smells are  in your nose and the bloody grass is between your toes. You’re scared to death of the villains but draw strength and resolve from the heroes. It would be a shame to call them books for they are vivid visions of other worlds and realms that you and I cannot imagine. But thankfully Shannon is there to give us these glimpes into his mind and I for one am honored to see them. It is a true travesty that the world at large is not permitted to peer into the wondrous windows of Shannon’s worlds. This wrong could be easily righted by YOU, publishers of the world. Please publish every page that Shannon will give you rights to, so that we can go to the bookstore and buy any thing with the name Shannon Thomas on the cover. I personally would buy any of his works without reading the back cover for the story line or checking the price tag. I’m waiting impatiently for you to make yourselves rich on these books so that I can enrich my mind with them.

As an editor of a literary magazine, I see lots of bad writing which this is definitely not.  I would buy this book.

I have known Shannon “Tommy” Thomas for many years and have enjoyed reading his poetry and now the excerpts from these books.  I am an avid reader and I cannot wait for these books to be in print so that I can buy them.  I have read many authors from Shakespeare to J.R.R. Tolkien to J.K. Rowling and the Bronte sisters.  Shannon is very talented, came keep the reader’s attention, and is very well-written.  Just reading the excerpts has left me hungering for more.

I have had the privilege of reading Warlock’s Wake, the first novel in the Heretic’s Quest series, and I was absolutely captivated by it. I have never been the biggest fan of the fantasy genre, but I must say that this book transcended my expectations. It was unlike any fantasy novel I have ever read. It is very bold and raw, full of action and suspense, and filled with just enough mystery and unanswered questions to keep the reader wanting more and more.
